These are a few of my favourite things.

Hi. I’m Tamara Macpherson Vukusic, author of “obitttersweet: Life Lessons from the Obituaries and founder of the Save Their Story Project. 

I have been devouring the obituaries for more than 20 years; clipping my favourites, highlighting the lines that bring me pause and growing a strong appreciation for carefully crafted words that make me feel the loss of someone I wish I knew.

Through all of these years (and more) I have worked as a professional writer in many different sectors including health care, tourism, sport, non-profit and industry. I am proud of my two national awards from the Canadian Health Care Public Relations Society for my human interest-packed newsletters.

I have Journalism and Political Science degrees from Carleton University. 

I also have a husband that still makes me laugh until I can barely breathe, two teenagers that are equal parts charming and exasperating, and a collection of poorly behaved but outlandishly loveable second-hand dogs and cats.
